The Metro-Detroit area is home to the largest Chaldean community
outside of Iraq. Some estimates place the size of the community at around 120,000.
Chaldeans Americans for years have used their hard work ethics
to continue to build a strong financial network. This has been due to their
commitment
to business and family. However, through the years, there has been no clear
voice for Chaldean Business People. The community for years has demonstrated
an interest in government affairs and promotion of business but has lacked
a viable organization or Chamber to deliver this message.
Chaldean-Americans
since their migration to America have had an entrepreneurial spirit. It is
estimated two out of every three Chaldean-American families
own their own business. Furthermore, Chaldean Americans are becoming more
involved
in the overall fabric of American society.
Chaldeans own an estimated 6,000
businesses in the State of Michigan. Aside from entrepreneurial endeavors,
Chaldeans have branched out into various
professions through higher education: teachers, lawyers and doctors.
Below is an estimated
number of businesses owned by members of the Chaldean American Community.
